Entry: Forty-four Weeks Sunday, March 23, 2014

Draining my system down and down
I have been my own personal clown
The skin that I wore is thick, I've been told
But I've been bare, walking in the cold

I left my home to pursue being lost
Working to afford the entire cost
Love has once again, fed me with lies
With promises of hello's turned to goodbyes

And how I scorn at a distant memory
When we used to just be you and me
Our world wasn't real, I saw it fade away
From your eyes- yet you asked me to stay

I have none left to give, stop asking for too much
As you can see, I'm now an empty catch
The skin of my heart is thick, I've been told
But it's been dead, left out in the cold.
